Vybz Kartel has once again found himself in hot water after a cellular phone was discovered in his possession by members of the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) yesterday.

In a media release, the DCS noted that all parties involved will face consequences.

“A search of the inmate’s cell and adjoining cells has been carried out by the DCS Search Team from the Caribbean Search Centre and the contraband found and removed. Sanction for inmates responsible is pending,” the statement read.

“The department wishes to advise that these actions are taken seriously, and efforts are being made to limit a re-occurrence of this nature,” it concluded.

On Thursday evening, social media lit up after the deejay, whose given name is Adidja Palmer, joined an Instagram live stream with producer Tarik “Rvssian” Johnston. Kartel sang a few lines from his Turn Up The Scheme, before exiting the stream.

This is not the first time Kartel has been in the spotlight.

In 2016, authorities launched an investigation into alleged illegal recording being done by the deejay, who is serving a life sentence. In 2017, then Minister of National Security Robert Montague announced that the DCS “stopped the recording of songs illegally”.Sponsored Links
