As a producer, Jahvy Ambassador has scored with hit beats like Ignite and Never Forget, but his latest, Soul Survivor, has special meaning.
Released on March 13 by his Tru Ambassador label it is distributed by Zojak World Wide. The beat comes out just over one year since Jahvy Ambassador was involved in a serious motor accident that required extensive rehabilitation.
The Soul Survivor is driven by five songs from Mavado, Alkaline, Jahmiel, Kranium and Star Captyn.
“I’ve enjoyed all the projects I’ve produced in my career but Soul Survivor stands out because of the story behind creating the beat. Having just been in a serious car accident and being able to make the beat with the injuries says a lot,” he said.
Jahvy Ambassador was driving in Kingston, Jamaica’s capital, when the incident took place in January, 2019. His initial recovery took three months.
Before his rehabilitation, he selected the acts to record on the Soul Survivor, having worked with them on previous projects.
“I choose to work with these artists as I felt they would have made the best presentation of how I wanted to perceive the project in a soulful and professional way,” he said.
Jahvy Ambassador, whose real name is Jahvel Morrison, studied music education at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Kingston. He kicked off his production career in 2012 with Bugle’s Don’t Give Up.
He has produced several of Alkaline’s hit songs such as Death Announcement, Mirage and Heartless Killaz. Winning, a hit for Jahmiel, is also produced by Jahvy Ambassador.
