ABOUT MACKEEHAN:The entertainment industry welcomed Mackeehan in 2005 as he wrote and co-wrote hits for a number of musical stalwarts including Alborosie, Luciano, Tarrus Riley, Duane Stephenson, Etana’s “Warrior Love” and Jah Cure’s”You’ll Never Find.” It was not until 2013 that he stepped into the recording booth himself after joining forces with Frankie Music. The synergy produced the hit singles “Stay By My Side” and “Miss You Bad” described as a catchy crossover appreciation for women. In 2014 Mackeehan proved his versatility as he shared a new message. His militant focus gave birth to “Rastafari Way,” a collaboration with Duane Stephenson, that later went on to top the Tempo Networks Cross Caribbean Countdown Charts. By 2016 Mackeehan released an EP entitled Heart Music. With his view of day to day society being a heavy influence on his craft, ‘Heart Music’ is a compilation of strong messages of love, gratitude and holding steadfast in moral principles. The most powerful track is a collaboration with Chevaughn, entitled “My Way.” In 2017 Mackeehan joined forces with Kongstar Records and produced the high emotional energy single and visuals to “Murda.” “Murda tackles the repetition of injustice and crime from the perspective of those who feel it the most,” shares Mackeehan. Mackeehan has been called to leave his mark on most of the leading music festivals in Jamaica including Rebel Salute in 2017 and 2018. Having already performed across America and Jamaica, Mackeehan embarked on his first European tour in 2017. He made stops at Reggae Geel and Uppsala Reggae Festival among others. Grateful for the opportunity to appease a wider market Mackeehan is even more focused on penning “messages intended to inspire a better livity.” This concentration has led to the release of “Africa Awaits,” another uplifting collaboration with Duane Stephenson. Later in 2017, he delivered another love ballad called “My Senorita” which gratified the hearts of women home and abroad. In 2018 Mackeehan brings nostalgia to his audience as he reminisces about 1990’s reggae dancehall sessions with “Rock an Come In.” Showing his more playful side on this Frankie Music production, Mackeehan can be seen doing his go-to move called the sparrow as he encourages others to enjoy life. On the other hand, Mackeehan’s latest collaboration, “That Sound,” featuring Busy Signal reminds us of the dangers of being too carefree. In the third verse he warns “Better be careful when you a touch the street, haffi stay focus, haffi be alert and quick upon your feet”. Mackeehan continues to stomp his prominence in the reggae industry with the timely social commentary debut single, “Raise a Pay” from his debut album. The album, Time and Patience is co-produced by Mackeehanand renowned producer Frankie. Time and Patience distributed by Tuff Gong International, was released on March 13, 2020. Look out for this collection of riveting messages in which you are bound to find your new favorite.
