KINGSTON, Jamaica —
OBSERVER ONLINE presents for readers a breakdown of the 396 positive COVID-19 cases in Jamaica.
Number of cases – 396 – 32 new cases in the last 48 hours
Of the 32 new cases there are 11 males and 21 females with ages ranging from one year to 71 years. 15 are associated with the business process outsourcing entity, Alorica located in Portmore, St Catherine.
Eleven of the new cases are contacts of confirmed cases and one is an imported case with five under investigation.
Of the 396 confirmed cases – 202 are employees of Alorica – with ages ranging from 18 to 53 years inclusive of 151 females and 51 males.
DEATHS
Seven Jamaicans have died from COVID-19
CASE CLASSIFICATION
35 imported cases
8 are local transmissions with no epidemiological link
108 are contacts of confirmed cases – of this amount of 108, 43 are contacts of Alorica employees. When this number of 43 is combined with the actual 202 employees of Alorica who have tested positive – the total is now 245 cases directly or indirectly linked to Alorica.
TESTS
3,993 samples have been tested with 3,567 negative results; 30 are pending.
ISOLATION/QUARANTINE
385 patients are currently in isolation
89 patients are in quarantine in a Government facility.
29 patients have recovered
