Jubba White, musician, singer, songwriter and producer was born to play and produce in the reggae music industry. His extensive life experiences, at home and abroad, began in high school and led to a deep understanding of the industry at an early age. Jubba toured, performed and recorded with many of Jamaica’s finest artists including Junior Kelly, Bushman, The Ethiopians, The Mighty Diamonds, Burning Spear and too many others to list.
As drummer and foundation member for the iconic band “DUBTONIC KRU,” Jubba always had the desire to give new and rising artists a chance to be seen and heard. His projects include a music festival aimed at a revival of Jamaican band culture (Bands Incorporated), and shortly after, a weekly platform for solo artists to perform live (Plug N’ Play). As a hardworking performer and producer, Jubba continues to innovate through projects that provide new opportunities for rising artists. His productions include blending younger voices and performances with established artists, resulting in a beautiful and appealing mix of old and new.
Jubba’s latest project, an EP entitled ‘FREEDOM (The Declaration of Rights) is set to be released in June, 2020. The first single and video “Concrete Jungle” by Frassman Brilliant, was released April 24 with excellent response. This initial track gave rise to a dancehall and roots reggae blend. “Declaration of Rights” the second single to be released on May 15, is a true re-introduction to the mystique of the original recording by the the Mighty Diamonds with the sweet addition of vocals by Aaron Nigel Smith.
The EP ‘FREEDOM (The Declaration of Rights) reflects the inherent vision of White Stone Productions, highlighting a diversity of voices, a blend of duets plus two solo vocal tracks. The eight-track release will incorporate the voices of the Mighty Diamonds, Aaron Nigel Smith, Honey B, I-Taweh, Kristine Alicia, Frassman Brilliant, Jahricio, Jah Guidance, Katteye, Covi, Kava Jah and Jubba.
