With her previous song Baby When You Left having done well in the Diaspora markets, singer Sophia Brown returns with Stronger, a single she hopes will live up to its title.
The self-produced song, which was released on June 26, was actually recorded in late 2019.
“To keep the momentum going, it means that moving forward I will have to keep releasing good music and maintain a certain standard when it comes to my production and that is what you will find with Stronger,” said the confident Brown.
Produced by veteran session musician Sidney Mills, Baby When You Left was released on Valentine’s Day. It was another step in Brown’s recovery from a life-threatening motor accident in 2017.
Its laid-back lovers rock feeI is consistent with most of her previous songs including Lovers Rock and We’re Lovers, the latter done with fellow vocalist Black Ice.
Baby When You Left entered the influential Foundation Radio Network Chart (which covers South Florida and the tri-state area) shortly after its release.
“I was happy with the success of Baby When You Left, it seems as if the fans were waiting for me to make a comeback with some fresh new music and I am grateful for all the airplay I got. It brought back a lot of attention to my career after being away for such a long time,” said Brown.
