Sister Carol

Opportunity is the title of the next album from singjay Sister Carol. It is produced by Glen Adams, former organist of The Upsetters Band who died in 2010.
According to the veteran artiste, “Look out for the release very soon.”
Opportunity will be Sister Carol’s first album since Thc (The Healing Cure) which came out in 2017. It is a throwback to the classic roots-reggae era of the 1970’s.
“These rhythm tracks are iconic rhythms; they were produced by Bunny ‘Striker’ Lee, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry and Glen Adams. This album will be available on all digital formats,” she said.

Glen Adams

Adams was a member of The Upsetters, Perry’s house band that also included the Barrett brothers, Aston and Carlton, on bass and drums respectively. Alva “Reggie” Lewis was the quartet’s guitarist.
They played on recording sessions for The Wailers that produced songs like Mr Brown which featured the memorable organ intro by Adams.
The innovative Adams also worked extensively with Lee.

Sister Carol, who was born in Kingston, migrated to New York City in the early 1970’s. She got her start in music late that decade when Adams was establishing himself on the Big Apple reggae scene.
She commands a loyal fan base, particularly on the United States West Coast where she has been a fixture for over 25 years.
Time Out, a song she did with American singer Jason Mraz, was released in June as part of his album, Look For The Good.
