Singjay Raine Seville makes no secret about her sexual tastes on Want It Ruff, her new song. And she is just as unapologetic about doing X-rated music.
“As a grown woman I do enjoy explicit songs. However, I’m proud to say that my music catalog includes a wide range of topics because I write my songs to appeal to all age groups and settings. The market somewhat demands mainly explicit songs especially if the artiste has heavy sex appeal. They tend to get quicker traction,” she explained.
Produced by Ireland Records, Want it Ruff is accompanied by a just-as saucy video.
According to Raine Seville, the raunchy single is aimed at a particular audience.
“Want it Ruff was written with mainly the hardcore dancehall market in mind. It’s definitely a song for the grown and sexy,” she said.
It is the latest song by Seville who is in her 10th year as a recording artist. Despite challenges of the coronavirus, she has maintained a steady schedule, also doing songs for RDX (Community) and MBR (Money A mi Best Friend).
While many of her colleagues have bemoaned the devastating impact the pandemic has had on their careers, Raine Seville is giving thanks.
“2020 recording-wise has been good. It’s (been) an extremely chaotic year with Covid throwing almost everything off track; the entertainment Industry has suffered a lot so I used the downtime to put in a lot of recordings, promote the recordings and shoot a few videos,” she said.
