Orlando welcomed its latest reggae venue on September 6 with the launch of Open Doors Recording Studio. The brainchild of engineer Jason Bromfield, it fulfills his career-long ambition of owning a studio.
“Things went wonderful! The turnout was impressive. I had a few local artists perform. They did a great job. Jahmali rip up the place when he came out singing El Shadai,” said Bromfield.

Singer Jahmali was part of the roots-reggae revival of the 1990’s. That was the decade when Bromfield made his name as an engineer at top studios in Kingston like Penthouse Records and Star Trail Records.
Since moving to Orlando 12 years ago, one of his objectives was to open a studio which would help expose reggae acts in the city.

“Having my own studio means I have developed my craft and have the capabilities required to do the task that is put in front of me. It makes me feel very proud!” the Spanish Town-raised Bromfield gushed.
Other artists performing at the launch of Open Doors Recording Studio were Jeffrey Michaels, Myoka, Break Free and Nockshizzle.

Jason Bromfield makes his debut as a producer in a matter of weeks with the Open Doors ‘riddim’ which will have 13 songs.
