After scoring two hard-hitting chart hits during the summer, Kashief Lindo goes for the triple with Love Is Just A Heartbeat Away.
The song has a laid-back feel compared to the rocking beats of Till Dem Bun Down Di House and Human Life, his previous songs, but the message is just as militant.
“2020 has been a serious year. Some of my musical works have been influenced by the sign of the times. The feedback has been great, so if my songs are providing comfort, peace of mind in these trying times, that is what we will continue to do,” said Lindo.
Like Till Dem Bun Down Di House and Human Life, Love is Just A Heartbeat Away is produced by his father Willie Lindo who also plays guitar. With the Coronavirus and racial injustice causing unrelenting strife worldwide, the Lindos had plenty of content to write and record for their South Florida-based Heavy Beat Records.
The somber Love is Just A Heartbeat Away bemoans the lack of brotherhood in the world, and seemingly endless conflicts.
According to Kashief, a socially-conscious song does not need power chords to be effective.
“Sometimes the melody of a song dictates the beat, so to keep things in context this is what we did, but the bottomline though is the message in the music and the lyrics in this song, (Love Is Just A Heartbeat Away) is no different from the ones referred to as hard hitting,” he said.
Till Dem Bun Down Di House and Human Life fared well on the South Florida Top 25 Reggae Chart.
