Webster James Linton –

Is a British UK-based singer/songwriter, he’s Gospel trained vocal pipes transfer seamlessly into his heartfelt, soulful style. Webster took a break from the music industry due to health complications and demands of studying at university from the year of 2018 and came back on the scene 2020 this time to sing and record British Reggae Lovers Rock. Webster’s dynamic high tenor/falsetto voice carries the raspy clear tone and Gospel soul of a bygone era.
Webster started singing from the tender age of 4 years old in the church. He is the youngest of 5 children. His grandmother and mother noticed Webster could sing as he use to listen to a lot of Aretha Franklin music, and tried to imitate her style of singing. Webster’s talent became noticed by his mother at the age of eight, while in the toilet, there was no hand paper towels. So as the cheeky kid he was growing up, he demanded for the paper towels in song and his mother became mesmerized by his words sung from Webster: ”SOMEBODY COME GIVE ME SOME PAPER TOWEL” (REPEATED FEW TIMES)

His music draws influences from artists like Freddie Jackson, Michael Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, The Isley Brothers, Sam Cooke, Angie Stone, Aretha Franklin, Stephanie Mills, Prince, Luther Vandross, Isaac Hayes, Gladys Knight, Kofi (Brown Sugar), Peter Hunnigale, Carrol Thompson, Vivian Jones, and Dennis Brown.
Webster wrote and recorded a Reggae Gospel single which became a hit “You Give Me Joy’’ which made it to No.2 on UK Reggae Gospel Chart, made him the No.3 artist of the year. His latest release is ‘’Bring It On Home To Me’’ which is a soul classic written by Sam Cooke. Webster covered it in Reggae authentic old school Lovers Rock style. The single is produced by Gregory Fabolous (The Dread UK Productions).

Over the years, Webster has shared the stage with top Jamaican and American reggae and soul gospel artists like, Junior Tucker, Lieutenant Stitchie, Volney Morgan, Carlene Davis, Marvia Providence, Kim Burrell, Donnie McLurkin, and Kirk Franklin. Webster has recorded with top producers such as: Chris Pecking’s, The Dread UK, One Harmony Records, Reggae Star Factor (Jack Reuben) and was also signed to Pop Producers (RsArtist Record Company). While doing all these things, Webster has managed to get his 1st degree in BSc (Hons) Criminology in 2018 and also completed a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management and now currently works as an Estate Agent and a Massage Therapist.
