International Dancehall/Reggae entertainer Buju Banton was refused a Certificate of Registration for his Buju Banton Foundation due to his criminal past.
According to a post made by Buju Banton, the Charities Authority, denied his Foundation a Certificate of Registration because he was convicted in 2011. The Gargamel, in a post to his over 1.2 million followers on Instagram, shared his letter of rejection.
Clearly displeased, Buju wrote, “I bet that I am way more honest than all of these fools put together.”
After serving seven years of a 10-year prison sentence in the United States for drug possession, Buju was deported to Jamaica in December 2018, and has made several charitable donations to the country’s inner city youths through his Buju Banton Foundation.
