Everett Metcalf aka Jah Ruby, died yesterday morning, February 7, at home in Miami, he turned 70 years old on January 13. According to his daughter Samantha “Daddy died peacefully in his sleep.”

For years Jah Ruby was a popular fixture on the music scene in South Florida. He was a childhood friend of Delroy Wilson, and in 2014, Ruby did a tribute album of some Wilson’s top songs. “The Delroy Wilson Story” was produced by Willie Lindo. Ruby’s last South Florida hit was “Don’t Call Me Daddy” in 2020, also produced by Lindo.

Jah Ruby is survived by his wife Grace (Cutie), children: Samantha, Sabrina, Amanda, Kim and Jeffery, grand children: Jayden, Jaimoi, Javaughn, Jahseh, Leah, Serena, and Empress. The official cause of death is yet to be determined.
