Is Sauce Perreler the new face of dancehall music? The deejay, who lives in Maryland, is brash enough to tell you he has the goods to go all the way this year.
He has two new songs on the market that presents his willingness to experiment. Dancing, produced by Jon FX, has elements of pop; Keys to The Future, a Money Ina Kyle Records production, is hardcore a la Vybz Kartel and Mavado.
“Dancehall is exciting for now because it showcase my creativity and give me more time to put my genius mind to work when it comes to creating all genres of music that will appeal to the world at large,” said Sauce Perreler. “I feel new artists and seasoned artists have the same chance to showcase their skill because it’s all about streaming right now.”
From rural St. Ann parish in Jamaica, Sauce Perreler has been recording for five years. His song output has increased in recent months, several of those releases being for Money Ina Kyle Records which is based in Kingston.
Keys to The Future is a collaboration with fellow deejay Fully Bad, who hails from the Cassava Piece community in Kingston that produced acts like Mavado. The song is a call for ghetto youth to empower themselves.
Dancing hears Sauce Perreler teaming with Jon FX, a multi-instrumentalist who earned his stripes on the gritty New York City reggae beat.
Based in South Florida, he is best known in hip hop circles as mentor to platinum-selling rapper XXXtentacion some of whose early songs he produced.
The dancehall circuit in Jamaica is a competitive one. Established acts include Popcaan, the jailed Tommy Lee Sparta and Aidonia.
There are a number of younger artists chomping at the bit to make their mark. Among them is Sauce Perreler who is not bashful about his capabilities.
“Sauce Perreler is a music genius that adds creativity to music and soul to music that stems from life experiences and my own imagination that God give me,” he said.
