There’s going to be a lot of partying in South Florida come September, and two of Jamaica’s biggest events will be in the mix.
CHUG IT, the country’s premier all-you-can-drink party, is scheduled for September 5, opening day of the Sunshine Liquor Festival; the following day is Mayhem, a wet-as-you-get romp.
The Sunshine Liquor Festival takes place on the Labor Day Weekend, arguably the most active leisure period in the United States. It is expected to be massive this year with Coronavirus restrictions being lifted across the country.
Both events were first held in Jamaica in 2012. CHUG IT has been staged in the island’s main party areas including Portmore, Negril and Montego Bay. It has also been held in Miami.
Mayhem has drawn thousands of fans to it’s aquatic home — the Kool Runnings Water Park in Negril.

The venues for both events are secret to the public. Once attendees purchase their tickets at sunshineliquorfest.com, they will automatically know locations for both parties.
Andrew “French” Wright, founder of CHUG IT, explained the strategy behind this ‘mystery’.
“The location of the venue are for those who are coming to the festival. A general idea is given to the public at large as it relates to the section of Florida; however,  persons who purchase tickets will be privy to the precise location at a date that is nearer to the event as this is a pre-sold only event. This protects both ticket holders and helps with venue capacity limits as we expect an overwhelming amount of persons in attendance based on our experience and feedback thus far,” Wright disclosed.

Selecting the Labor Day Weekend for a comeback, he said, is only natural.
“Working is something that the majority of the population focuses on almost every day of their lives. Work hard, play hard; so on the day that we recognize and acknowledge workers, we choose this time to provide the ultimate relief from everyday responsibilities to celebrate together and play harder,” Wright explained.
