A frightening ordeal a few months ago has recording artiste Jae Prynse giving thanks for the gift of life.

The entertainer, best known for his breakthrough single Try Harder, was attacked by a gunman in ‘broad daylight’ following a video shoot. Not keen on reliving the horrific ordeal, the entertainer told THE STAR that he is now in a better space and is looking forward to moving on.

“Even though it was a tough situation, life and death, I had the chance to leave out of it with the blessings of my life and so we just affi move forward and look ahead,” he said. “I don’t want to sit and wonder why this happen to me because once yuh alive, anything can happen to anybody. I just want to keep focused and move forward and always remember that it’s not the situation that we face but how we deal with them.”

The artiste, who is currently overseas, said he has refocused on his career and will be looking to initiate a summer takeover. Inking a publishing deal with UK-based company, Defenders Entertainment, Jae Prynse is gearing up to release a five-track EP later this year. Defenders Entertainment has worked with Drake, among other international acts. Jae Prynse told THE STAR that he is pleased with the direction his career is headed, and revealed that the lead single from the EP will be released this Friday.

“So far I am pleased with the partnership and looking forward to greater opportunities. For the past few months, we have been working earnestly in the studio and I’m hopeful the result (the EP) will be met with optimism by the fans,” he said. “We lost a few earthly possessions recently but the greatest thing is life and we have it same way so we just a embrace it and a live it up.”

Defenders Entertainment’s label executive Corey Johnson, in a statement sent to THE STAR, described his newest client as a ‘great addition’ to the team.
