Giannii

With roots in one of Jamaica’s toughest communities, Giannii knows the challenges posed by what sociologists call social decay. He knows poverty can also breed hatred.
He admonishes the negatives of urban life on No Love, his latest song which is produced by Denzil “Famous” Williams, a Jamaican who has built a solid reputation in Swedish reggae.
“The message that I am sending is a very positive one. I am  showing that regardless of the hardships that you may experience or face throughout life it should make you go harder to achieve success. It should not make you bitter and build hate towards any one even if you never grow wid No Love,” said Giannii.
He is from east Kingston, a rugged region in Jamaica’s capital. Though it has produced top acts like The Skatalites, Wayne Wonder and Spragga Benz, the area has a history of gang and political violence.

Some of Giannii’s songs including No Rose and Wey yuh Feel Like, were done in the United Kingdom where he has spent extended periods. Unlike many dancehall artists who thrive on controversy, he avoids confrontation.
“The difference I bring to dancehall is I actually love the sport, it’s not just a money grab for me,” he stated. “I actually want to see my fellow artists rise and keep building the culture worldwide.”
No Love is expected to be part of Level 7, an EP Giannii is currently recording with the Stockholm-based Williams.
