Bounty Killer

Bounty Killer—

The ‘Poor People’s Governor’, Bounty Killer, is about to add actor to his resume, as he is all set to star in an upcoming feature film.

Produced primarily by 9Z film company, which is headed by Nigel Dixon, the yet-untitled film is described as a crime drama, set in Jamaica, and which highlights several social and political issues.

THE STAR reached out to Bounty Killer for a comment, however, it was brief, as the entertainer was busy celebrating the birthday of his beloved, Claudia ‘Hybrid Queen’ Rattigan.

“I am excited to represent the Jamaican culture in a movie setting,” Bounty Killer said.

Regarding him playing the lead, the Down in the Ghetto artiste declared, “I, Bounty Killer, am a leader, so I will always play the lead role in anything I am doing. Bounty Killer is always against crime and violence, so I agreed to do this movie to send a message to the youth of Jamaica. Acting is always something I considered doing, but it has to represent what Bounty Killer stands for.”

Dixon told THE STAR that he specifically earmarked the artiste for the project.

“I do some skits and they get millions of views on YouTube and people are always saying that I should do a movie. I know that Bounty watches the skits and likes them and I really wanted to do a project with him. I approached him with the idea in 2017 and then again in 2019. He told me ‘Send me some long voice note’. And we started talking seriously about it. He liked the idea and I eventually sent him the script,” Dixon explained.

Beenie Man

Having secured partial funding from an overseas-based company, and still in discussions with Downsound Entertainment, Dixon was able to officially sign off on a contract with Bounty Killer to play the lead role in the upcoming drama.

“It follows the life of a young man through a tale of violence and corruption after he found a gun in his community. This role will be played by Bounty Killer. The aim of the film is to influence young boys and men to avoid a life of crime,” Dixon explained. He added that Beenie Man will also be featured in a small role.
