For much of 2020, Yami Bolo spent time in the recording studio working on songs that would comprise Jah Love Will Rule The World, his first album in over 10 years.
The roots singer, 51, is preparing to renew promotion for the 10-song set which was released last April. It is produced by his Yam Euphony Music Limited.
“It has a freshness ’bout it an’ di messages are strong an’ relevant. Di world needs to hear these songs,” said the New York-based Bolo.

Jah Love Rule Will The World contains hard-hitting tracks like the title, I’m Making my Life, Campaign Genocide and In my Room In my Room.

It followed on the heels of Chosen People, a anti-gun song Bolo did with Capleton. Released in March,  2020, it was inspired by rampant violence in Jamaica. Jah Love Will Rule The World was his his first album since Ministry, which was released in 2005.

Born Rolando McLean, Yami Bolo began recording in his early teens for singer/producer Sugar Minott, but that song was never released. When A Man’s in Love was his first released song, produced by Winston Riley on the famed Stalag ‘riddim’. It was a massive hit and earned Yami Bolo a following among hardcore dancehall fans. After working that scene for several years with sound systems and acts like Super Cat and Tenor Saw.

Yami Bolo embraced Rastafari in the late 1980’s.
At that time, he began working with musician/producers Augustus Pablo and Earl “Chinna” Smith.

His songs during the 1990’s include Puppet Master, Love my Woman and Put Down Your Weapons, a collaboration with Capleton.
