Since winning Jamaica’s Rising Star talent contest in 2005, Christopher Martin has established himself as one of the kingpins of lovers rock reggae. He’s also one of the music’s most marketable acts.
Martin is stepping up promotion for Come Closer To Me, a song he recorded for Madstorm Production last summer. A video for the single is being released this week as producers go all out to reach even more fans.
“We are confident that this video will go over a million views. The benefit of a music video is to help the producer and the artist’s brand grow their fan base to new heights worldwide,” said Edgiton Farqhuarson, principal of Boston-based Madstorm Production.
Come Closer To Me is one of several songs on the Majestic Storm ‘riddim’ which was released in August. Martin, whose hit songs include I’m A Big Deal and Cheater’s Prayer, is among the ‘name’ acts contributing to the project. “The riddim is doing very well. We have some inquires about it, and we are in talks right now to grow the riddim even more. We are very pleased with all responses,” said Farqhuarson.
Initially released in 2019, the Majestic Storm was created and mixed by Jaylin “Jay Beats” Farqhuarson and Mario Lawrence who are key members of the Madstorm Production team.
Farqhuarson revived the beat last year with Come Closer To Me as a prime single. Wanna Love by singjay Symatic, and Official Gallis from Delly Ranx are other songs on the Majestic Storm.
