As a musician who cut his teeth on Jamaica’s north coast scene, Timmy Love listened to, and performed, different types of music. Such as Forever Young, a power ballad made popular by German group Alphaville and American singer Laura Branigan.

Recently, he recorded a version of Forever Young. His self-produced cut was released in September.
“This is a song that I always liked, I prefer the original version that was done by Alphaville. However, My son put some hip hop drums to the song and created a different vibe. As soon as I heard it I could not get the song out of my head,” said Timmy Love. “It was then that I decided to do a reggae-pop version of the song.”

Branigan’s throaty version of Forever Young was hot in Jamaica circa 1985 when Timmy Love was beginning to chart a career playing bass guitar and singing in bands on Jamaica’s tourist circuit.
He kicked off his recording career 26 years ago and has released five albums to date.
