Located in eastern Jamaica, Portland parish is famous for its lush landscape and spicy jerked food. It’s where Nazz Genna started making music as a boy and he hasn’t stopped. The singer is based in Orlando, Florida where he has been recording songs like I’m Living, a collaboration with fellow Portland native, Drizzy Fade. Produced by 1Press Records, it was released last summer.
Strongly influenced by lovers rock star Sanchez, Nazz Genna has been recording songs for some time. However, his move to central Florida saw him linking with a like-minded artist. “Mi meet mi bredda (brother) Drizzy Fade an’ him start record mi voice, an’ mi love di way how mi soun’. An’ wi start get love from di people,” said Nazz Genna, whose smooth vocals complement Drizzy Fade’s robust sound. I’m Living, which celebrates the fast-paced lifestyle associated with dancehall and pop stars, is their first released song.
Nazz Genna is confident it won’t be the last. “Me an’ Drizzy have a great chemistry always an’ wi want to tek (take) this to another level,” he said.
