Real Life, the third solo album from singer Andrew Bees, is scheduled for release in early July by Law Records, an independent label based in Los Angeles.
The veteran artist, who has been a member of Black Uhuru for over 20 years, is executive producer for the set which is produced by multi-instrumentalist Andrew Diamond.

Real Life also bears the seal of his company, Bees Hive Music, which he formed in 2019.
Hail And Blaze is the lead single from the album which has several songs driven by rock guitar. Bees said that is deliberate. “In California, dat’s what’s going on. See SOJA win di Grammy? Dat’s di kind of vibe they have, it’s a new vibe,” he noted.

SOJA won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album on April 3 with Beauty in The Silence, topping five Jamaican rivals including previous winners Sean Paul and Gramps Morgan. Like many American reggae bands, they incorporate rock elements to reach a wider audience.

Andrew Bees is from the Jamaican community of Waterhouse, where Black Uhuru formed in the early 1970’s. The area also produced The Wailing Souls, Don Carlos and Junior Reid.
Militant, his first album, was released in 1995. His second album, Iration, came out 10 years later.
