Ed Robinson—

Florida-based singer and producer Ed Robinson’s cover of All Night Long was the number one song for three weeks on the South Florida Reggae chart.

Released via Reggae Global Entertainment, All Night Long is among several covers that Robinson has put his spin on over the years.

Robinson’s early 1990s cover of Bob Dylan’s Knocking on Heavens’ Door was a blockbuster hit which topped several reggae charts.

Robinson, who is originally from Jamaica, has been a long-time fan of Lionel Richie, the original singer of All Night Long which was a number one hit on the Billboard Adult Contemporary, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks, and Hot 100 charts in 1983.

The reggae/calypso/pop flavoured original version of All Night Long was featured on Richie’s 1983 album Can’t Slow Down. All Night Long has been certified platinum in the United Kingdom and in the United States.

Still on regional charts, singer Richie Stephens takes over the top spot on the Foundation Radio Network (New York) Music chart with Valley.

Moving now to the streaming- and sales-driven Billboard Reggae Albums chart, Bob Marley and the Wailers continue their dominance for week 119 with Legend.

Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection by Shaggy is firm at number two, while Dutty Classics Collection by Sean Paul re-enters at number three.

Gifted by Koffee slides down to four, Greatest Hits by UB40 dips to five, World on Fire and Set in Stone by Stick Figure are six and seven, respectively.

Alpha by Shenseea tumbles to eight, while Mad Love: The Prequel by Sean Paul inches up to nine.

Time Bomb, a 2011 release by Iration which peaked at number two on the Billboard Reggae albums chart, revisits the chart at 10.

Midnight Rocker, Horace Andy

On the sales-driven US Current Reggae Albums chart, Midnight Rocker, a 10-track album of new recording by legendary singer Horace Andy, produced by Adrian Sherwood, debuts at number one with first week sales of 416 in pure album sales.
