Gospel star Carlene Davis goes Nyahbinghi on her latest track “Jah Shall Wipe Away All Tears.” The single, taken from the scripture in Revelation 21:4 are the opening words in the singers new song which features the melodies of traditional songs ‘God Shall Wipe Away All Tears’, ‘We Shall Overcome’ (anthem of the Civil Rights Movement) into ‘Lead Me’ gospel favorites. About the song Carlene says ‘I represent the voice of many; we know with all that is going on around us in the world and in Jamaica, we hold on to the promises of God that His plans for us is to prosper us and keep us in good health, mentally, physically and spiritually, offering courage, comfort and hope.”
The single, released Friday, May 13 with VPAL Music is available on all streaming platforms. Special launch programs are set for Florida on May 29, Denbigh on July 31, and Bronx New York, Fun In The Son August 6. Plans are afoot for video release in June. This single follows up Carlene’s 2021 release ‘Cover Me’ and ‘Praising God’ which has streamed over a million times in 2021. Musicians on this track include Fitzroy ‘Dave Prime Time’ Green on drums, John Williams on violin, Kenroy ‘Shortman’ Mulllings on guitar, Sherwayne Thompson on bass and Christopher McDonald on keyboards, percussions Samuel Williams aka ‘Time’ on Percussion Repeater / Akete drum.
