E-Dee has stepped-up promotion for Elevate, his third album, which was released on May 9 by Unseen Lab Recordings. In June, the singjay is pitching the 16-song set to markets in Las Vegas, Toronto, Cuba, New York, Atlanta and Florida.
The Cuban leg saw him shooting a video, a follow-up to Everytime I See You, one of the songs from Elevate. As much as he would welcome a hit song, E-Dee stressed that airplay is not priority.
“I don’t have to have a hit single to release an album because majority of my tracks is already been placed in films and television, and there are a few tracks that’s on the album that have over a million streams already. So, I am tying in the movie audience with my music audience,” he explained.
Originally from Clarendon in central Jamaica, E-Dee has doubled as a singjay and actor for almost 20 years. He has appeared in movies such as Out The Gate, Gangland and Temperature Rising.
Mother in Law, his latest project, stars Vivica A. Fox and Michael Nunez.
Elevate, which E-Dee describes as a blend of “classic vibes of ‘90’s and 2000’s dancehall party vibes and bedroom bravado” features collaborations with Glen Washington (Where I Belong), and Ghetto Yutes Rise with I-Octane.
The album is produced by QMillion who also did the honors for JA 2 LA 2 Di World and Dance Celebrity, E-Dee’s previous albums.
