With his Ghetto People Song sampled by rappers French Montana and Harry Fraud, Everton Blender is back in the news. A New Jersey show promoter the renewed interest in the veteran singer will spur ticket sales for his July 10 show in Paterson, New Jersey.


Blender performs at The Cave in that city, located in the northern region of the Garden State.
“Blender is back in the news and trending globally. Although he had been in the limelight for many years because of the many hits he created, some of the fans who listen to French Montana may not have heard about him before the sampling of Ghetto People Song,” said promoter Kenton Dave Peters.   

Morocco-born French Montana, a protege of Diddy, and American producer/rapper Harry Fraud, sampled Ghetto People Song for their song Higher which was released June 27.

Blender’s song was a hit in 1996. It is one of several songs released on the La La Bella ‘riddim’ produced by Tony Rebel.
The Cave opened in 2021 and has hosted several dancehall artists including Sister Nancy, Round Head and  Lecturer. The venue has a capacity of 300 people.


Everton Blender was part of a crew of Rastafarian artists who revived consciousness in dancehall music during the 1990’s. Others being Tony Rebel, Garnet Silk, Yasus Afari and Kulcha Knox.
In addition to Ghetto People Song, his hits include Lift up Your Head, Family Man and Create A Sound.
