No stranger to thoughtful music videos, Richie Stephens went all out for the visual to Reverse The Curse, his latest hit song. Partially filmed in Jamaica’s scenic Hope Botanical Gardens, it has drawn over two million views since premiering in June.

The song, which was number one for two weeks on the Foundation Radio Network New York Chart, is a joint production between the singer’s Pot O Gold Production and Boomrich Productions.

The figure is staggering, even for Stephens, a 35-year music industry veteran.

“For Reverse The Curse to rake up two million views in less than two months

It means the song is resonating with people all over the world, based on the great feedback that I am getting,” he said.

Stephens said he wrote the song based on personal challenges he has endured. He believes that makes the song relatable to many people, some of whom have no way to express their frustrations.

He credits teamwork for Reverse The Curse’s success.

“I am not really surprised about how well the song is doing due to the fact that this song is so real and profound. From the first day working on it in the studio, all the musicians, engineer and backup singers were all very excited….and that’s usually a great way to measure a song,” Stephens stated.

Reverse The Song is the precursor for his album of the same title which is scheduled to drop August 26 through Dubshot Distribution.

Real Reggae Music, Stephens’ previous solo album, was released in 2013.
