Dancehall duo Tanto Metro and Devonte are upbeat as ‘Luv’, a 2016 hit single by Canadian singer and rapper Tory Lanez has been certified gold in France.

The certification was issued by the National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing (SNEP) on December 22.

‘Luv’ features a sample from the duo’s 1998 hit single ‘Everyone Falls in Love’, which was produced by Donovan Germain.

“I feel good to know that after all these years, the song got revamped by a younger person. To hear that the song has been certified gold, I feel overwhelmed by this achievement. I am happy for him,” said Tanto Metro.

He said the use of the sample was cleared by his publisher.

“The publishing company did their part, everything was cleared for use of the sample,” said Tanto Metro.

‘Everyone Falls in Love’ was a hit locally and it also charted on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
