Fernando Edwards

It took over two years of toil for Fernando Edwards but on April 15, the Jamaican finally saw the debut of Rooted Betrayal, his first film project.

The half-hour psychological thriller, in which he stars, directed and produced, was released on Amazon Prime.
“Having this project out there means that it’s now available to a wider audience, and people around the world can now enjoy and appreciate the hard work and creativity. Releasing a film on a platform like Amazon Prime not only gives me more exposure but also provides me with an opportunity to reach and build a new audience,” said Edwards. “It’s a moment of great accomplishment and recognition for all the efforts, and it’s something to be proud of.”

He did not disclose the extent of Rooted Betrayal’s budget but stated that most of the funding came from his personal funds. Edwards is a partner in Taste Of Flava, a catering service in Los Angeles where he has lived for over 10 years.
In Rooted Betrayal, he plays Andre, while Suely Ramos is Stacy, the film’s other main character.

Edwards is from Portmore, a working-class community on the outskirts of Kingston,  Jamaica’s capital.

He earned a scholarship to Missouri Baptist University where he graduated from with a bachelors degree in business management.
