Causion

It has been some time since Causion released a major project. On June 24, his birthday, the Antiguan singer will release Mission in Progress, a seven-song EP.

He co-produced the project with longtime friend Maurice Gregory, a veteran keyboardist who has worked with Third World, Freddie McGregor and Mykal Rose.

“My fans can expect this body of work to touch them in their hearts and souls. For me, that is where it came from. Every song has a special place in my heart, and I hope that my fans will feel the same way too and remember (that) through difficult times we will overcome it; the mission is still in progress,” said Causion.

Mission In Progress includes Antigua Me Come From, a nod to his homeland in the Eastern Caribbean. There is also Thank You, a solemn show of gratitude to his “Father” for helping him through a challenging period.

Causion, who is based in South Florida, has recorded four albums to date. They are Don’t Throw Your Life Away, Time Will Tell, One Life to Live and Stella’s Kid. The latter was released in 2008 by VP Records.

He said Mission In Progress offers something different from his previous work.

“I would say yes, I’m taking my time reaching into my inner self. See, I ask my Father to show me the way, and I will follow. Music is so powerful you only have to listen and the journey becomes clearer,” Causion reasoned.
