The Conscious One, Mackie Conscious collaborates with The Messenger Luciano to bring the conscious message of hope in a song “BRIGHTER DAY”- when all is said and done this world will be a better place,” after going through worldwide tribulations of the recent times.

It did not require much for Luciano to consent to being a part of this interesting project, as it fell right in line with the consistency of the messages he usually delivers. The song was further enriched by the similarity of both voices combined while singing alternate lines. The world right now, is seemingly relying heavily on Luciano, (who rose to prominence since the passing of Garnet Silk), which has also been compounded by the passing of several other reggae Icons like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown, John Holt, Bunny Wailer, Bunny Rugs and Toots just to name a few, to carry the reggae banner out of Jamaica..

With the recent announcement of the end of the dreaded disease Covid-19, which disrupted many lives, shattered hopes and dreams, loss of loved ones and economic turmoil all over the world, the first verse of this song is timely as it brings a message of hope that, “we who are still here because of God’s grace” should never give up but believe that there will be a “Brighter Day.”

This second verse which is calling for a global unification of the African family, is likened unto a continuation of the Bob Marley Song “Africa Unite,” again hoping for a “Brighter Day” for all Africans.

Mackie was inspired to write this song after releasing three other songs during the pandemic, “Follow Your Dreams,”  “I’m Alive” and “Lets Pray” all of which will become a part of his upcoming album “Inspiration.”

Mr. Conscious, together with his production partner and keyboard genius Wayne Holness, masterfully created this entire musical production. Fitzroy Minot and Joshua (Dave) Clarke on saxophone and trumpet respectively, combined the stinging horn section. Tameka Moncrieff (Tammy T) who does background vocals with Jimmy Cliff, Etana and many international artistes sang the melodious harmony tracks. Richard (Goofy) Campbell another musical genius joined in with of the final mixing. The entire production of this masterpiece was done at the Conscious Music Works Recording studio owned and operated in Montego Bay Jamaica by the artiste Mackie Conscious (Dennis McKay).

The feedback from several musicologists and radio personalities on this project has been tremendous. It is expected to be a song that will replicate from the lips and resonate on the heart of everyone who hears it.

The message is potent and relevant in this time where people need hope, as well as the solid musical rendition declares that authentic reggae music is still alive and coming out of Jamaica.
