Information reaching OBSERVER ONLINE from a credible source within the Jamaica Constabulary Force [JCF] is that Lewis disregarded a summons to appear before the Corporate Area Traffic Court on February 6, 2023 for disobeying a one-way sign on January 4.

He was taken into custody Monday morning. According to The Road Traffic Act, careless driving where no collision occurs carries a fine of $11,000.

This isn’t Lewis’ first run-in with the law where traffic matters are concerned. Back in May, he was picked up by members of the JCF’s Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB) at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston for toll evasion after breaking through the toll booth in St Catherine.

In a 28-second video clip captured by Lewis as he entered the Portmore leg of Highway 2000 at the time, the entertainer declared that after waiting in line to pay the toll, he decided it was taking too long and that he would “do what mi feel like.”

“Mi inna da toll ya people and it a take too long. Mi run mi owna destiny people suh mi a go through the tag line and I a di emperor. So, mi do suh now – boom – and mi run through di tag line and a it dat people,” he said as he broke the barrier and triggered the alarm.
