In July, legendary musician, producer, and lead vocalist for the immortal Fabulous Five show band, announced that after 52 years, he was leaving the group to pursue a solo career. Their appearance at the Red Rose For Gregory show on Mother’s Day at Hope Gardens, providing backing for Denice Williams and The Manhattans, was his last performance with the band.

Grub’s first solo production “Diamonds Are Forever) is a touching and emotional tribute to the iconic roots group, The Mighty Diamonds, who lost two of its members (Donald “Tabby” Shaw and Fitzroy “Bunny” Simpson) a week apart in 2022. According to Grub “I had to do something to show respect to these guys…I am a big fan of theirs ” The single will be available on all streaming platforms in the next few days. Grub Cooper had just recently wrapped up production with the gospel group, The Grace Thrillers.
