The reggae band F.Y.A.H. releases “Oh Oh Oh (Jammin’),” a sunny new single off their upcoming debut album. The song and visualizer are out now via VP Records’ imprint Dub Rockers.
Produced and arranged by founding member Delroy ‘Pele’ Hamilton, the track arrives as a feel-good anthem “with instrumentation that takes you to the islands,” said Pele. He joined the group’s other core members – lead vocalist Elton Earlington and guitarist Nicolas Groskopf – on background vocals and guitar, and also contributed on keyboards alongside Jason “J-Vibe” Farmer, and played bass guitar. Peter Samaru was on drums, while Michael Howell and Shane Brown worked as the recording and mixing engineers, respectively.
“This song is about having a good vibe however you feel necessary,” said Pele. “It’s easy to sing along to, and the sounds of the Ukulele and flute solo bring to mind being on the beach or up in the hills holding an Irie vibe. It has a positive message: Be thankful for the good times shared with others.”
“Oh Oh Oh (Jammin’)” is the latest addition to a series of singles F.Y.A.H. has issued in the lead-up to their debut album, including “Raging Fire,” “One Day Soon” with dancehall titan Josey Wales, and, most recently, “Freedom Fighter” with David Hinds of the legendary U.K. reggae band Steel Pulse.
In August, F.Y.A.H. made their SummerStage debut in New York City in a roots reggae concert that packed the Rumsey Playfield in Central Park, and featured a line-up of Anthony B, Chuck Fenda, and other notable artists.
