Sometimes even the most committed Christians question their faith. That’s not strange, according to Da’Ville, Wingy Danejah, and Kidd Lee who teamed up for I Need Your Presence, a song scheduled for release in January.
The singer, deejay, and rapper bring different flavors to a song that hears them yearning for the Lord in doubtful times.
“From what I’ve seen so far, God’s presence in everything makes everything better. As the Word says, ‘in his presence, there is peace’. Now, who does not need peace in their lives? I know that I do, I need it. Don’t you?” asks Da’Ville. “This world system is based upon chaos, people are lost now even more than ever with no sense of direction, but you see, God’s presence gives you that direction and so much more. I’ve experienced that and I want more of it, I also want you and everyone else who has never experienced it to experience it too.”
Da’Ville, known for lovers rock songs such as Always on My Mind and This Time I Promise, converted to Christianity two years ago. Since then, he has released a clutch of gospel songs.
Wingy Danejah credits divine intervention for bringing him together with Da’Ville and Kidd Lee who is from North Carolina.
“Our spiritual connection was guided by the Holy Spirit, prompting me to reach out to Da’Ville and Kidd Lee, and we quickly became like family. When God orchestrates, everything falls into place seamlessly,” he said.
Like Da’Ville, Wingy Danejah, who is from Portmore in Jamaica, has been recording music for many years. He has been a gospel artist since the mid-1990s, with many of his songs being a blend of dancehall and hip hop.
