With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, love is in the air! Not to be left out are Hopeton Lindo and his team at Irie Pen Records dropping two songs from their Favorite ‘riddim’ on February 8.

Six artists recorded songs on the uptempo beat which was done by the Heavybeat Crew. Hopeton Lindo, Sanchez, Peter G, Novel-T, Anthony Malvo and INique do it justice with solid songs, all produced by Lindo.

The Irie Pen Records head said his objective was to come up with a catchy riddim that projects love. With the help of the Heavybeat Crew, he believes that was achieved.

“The feel in mind is to produce a lovers rock juggling to stand the test of time and release them during Valentine’s. We have six songs on the riddim and will be dropping some singles and an EP soon,” Lindo disclosed.

His song on the Favorite riddim is Favorite Girl while Sanchez rocks on The Best In Me. Those are the project’s lead singles, both original songs written by Hopeton Lindo

Peter G contributes Not Taking No, Novel -T song is I Love The Way, Anthony Malvo with I Can’t and INique does Happy. Significantly, all the artists for this project are vocalists which is a deliberate strategy.

“It’s very important to keep the singer in focus as I believe the work that you put in will determine the outcome, so we work as a team that embraces the challenge of being the best of ourselves,” he said.

The Favorite riddim launches the 2024 Irie Pen Records campaign. The independent label had an outstanding 2023 with Hopeton Lindo releasing Purpose, which was the number two album on respected broadcaster Clinton Lindsay’s Foundation Radio Network Charts.

He was also named number one Male Artist Of The Year and Novel-T was named number one Female Artist Of The Year by that organization.

Purpose contained I Don’t Know Much (with Novel-T), a reggae cover of the Grammy-winning ballad. Their version was number one for multiple weeks in South Florida.

“After a successful 2023, I’m praying for continued blessings from the Almighty in 2024 with more live performances as I’m inspired not pressured. Plus, I’m working with a great team so with Purpose in mind the best is yet to come,” said Lindo
