Founder of Pulse Investments Limited Kingsley Cooper has died. He was 71 years old.
He had reportedly been hospitalized in Florida.
The first fashion production, modelling and general entertainment company of its kind, Pulse was founded by Cooper in 1980 and would later be listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange as Pulse Investments Limited.
As head of Pulse, Cooper effected a number of innovations and firsts for Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
He pioneered, defined and developed an international modelling industry for the Caribbean, in the process discovering and developing supermodels and other international stars.
Cooper was born in Kingston on June 3, 1953 and educated at Kingston College, The University of the West Indies and the Norman Manley Law School. He worked as an attorney from 1975 to 1980.
Cooper’s daughter, Safia, is the current chief executive officer of Pulse Investments.
