Dancehall artiste Jah Teff recently teamed up with reggae singer Twiggi to record a thought-provoking new single titled Careful.
“When I began writing this song, I realized I needed a singer to sing the hooks (chorus). So, I called my good friend Twiggi and invited her to be a part of the the project,” said Jah Teff. The Montego Bay- born deejay said the song was inspired by things he saw happening in society.
“I’ve observed over the years that people are becoming more violent and disrespectful. It’s like there is no love in the world any more. Nowadays, people say some of the meanest things to each other, both online and offline. I’m not in a position to change the world by myself, but I hope this song will inspire people to treat each other better,” he said.
“The world is rapidly becoming a cold and uncaring place. So, we are sending a message of change out there with this song. We hope it will awaken the people’s consciousness and let them realize that we need to become our brother’s keeper again. We need to love and care for each other again,” she said.
Produced by Updehmusic Productions, Careful was released on May 24. Since then, it has enjoyed heavy rotation both locally and overseas. The video for the single was shot and edited in Sunrise, Florida, by Steve ‘Tibinz’ Tobins. It premiered on May 29.
