Sixty-two-year-old Jamaica-born American resident Fabion Hammond has disappeared without a trace, since June 15 and his loved ones are seeking the public’s assistance in locating him.
He is the nephew of famed entertainer Beres Hammond.
“The friend said Fabion wanted to go to Glengoffe (St Catherine), but he told him that he wasn’t able to take him at that time. He said Fabion said he would reach out to me, my brother or a brethren on Rum Lane, for a car. However, I didn’t get a call from Fabion, nor did my brother. None of our family got any calls from him either. No one in Florida, where he resides, including his girlfriend has heard from him,” she said.
Hammond is of light complexion, green eyes and is about 6ft 2 inches.
A $1-million reward has been offered for information leading to the recovery of the 63-year-old businessman.
“The police went to his house in Allman Town and the suitcase that he came down with was placed neatly on the bed, but he also had a knapsack and that is missing. … The police have checked the airport and there is no record to show that he had departed the island either,” the relative said.
“Fabion visits Jamaica on a regular basics because he has his home and other properties here. He is a private person, but this behaviour is unlike him to just come and disappear. None of his children or even his partner has heard from him,” Brown added.
She said the family remains on edge and she is asking anyone with information to reach out to the police.
“Please, just be on the lookout for him,” she said.
