Since launching Kings Of Kings Productions company 29 years ago, Colin “Iley Dread” Levy has built a reputation as a music producer and administrator. But it is performing live that gets him most excited.

The singer is one of the artistes for Rasta Fest which takes place this weekend in Toronto, Canada. Iley Dread is scheduled to perform on Saturday at an event headlined by Leroy Sibbles, one of the pillars of the Canadian reggae community.

The show takes place at Green Pea Parking Lot in Little Jamaica, Eglington.

“It’s my first time on Rasta Fest and my first time performing on a major show in six years. I’m delighted and looking forward to it because Canada is my hub,” Iley Dread told Observer Online.

Inner America is produced by Andrew Junior, another Ghana native who Iley Dread met while behind bars. The song will be on Joyful Noise, his album which is scheduled for release late this year.

Launched in Montreal, Kings Of Kings Productions was one of the dominant reggae labels during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Its catalogue includes albums like Persistence by Norris Man.

The Premier League ‘riddim’, released in July, is the label’s latest project.

This is the 31st staging of Rasta Fest which has traditionally featured roots-reggae acts. In addition to Sibbles and Iley Dread, Benaiah, Tonya P and Welder will perform at Saturday’s event.
