In a release, Cedella Marley, CEO of the Bob Marley Group of Companies shared that the foundations were deeply committed to supporting the educational aspirations of Jamaican youth, noting that the scholarships are not just financial awards, but investments in the future leaders of the nation.
The Marley for Education Program, a key initiative of the Bob Marley Foundation, continues to uphold the legacy of the King of Reggae, Robert Nesta Marley by offering vital support to students in need. This year, the program has awarded three hundred and twenty-two bursaries to students at the Basic, Primary, and High School levels and twenty-four scholarships to students pursuing tertiary education.
Meanwhile, The Rita Marley Foundation, under the vision of Marley Matriarch, Rita Marley, remains committed to empowering young Jamaican women through education. The Rita Marley Scholarship Program has awarded J$4 million in scholarships to 10 outstanding female students pursuing tertiary education in various fields.
Since its inception, the Marley for Education Program has been a beacon of hope for students in Jamaica’s most vulnerable communities, providing economic support to families in need so that their children’s education can remain a top priority.
To date, the Marley for Education Program has invested more than J$47 million in the future of over 3,500 students, focusing on those who need financial support to continue their education and elevate their academic performance.
