Singer Tessanne Chin says she is working on a new album, the follow-up to 2014’s Count on My Love.

The still-untitled album, for which a release date has not yet been announced, will feature production work by Natural High Music.

“We’re gonna start off with a release or two for Christmas. I want to get back in that mode, I want to get creative again and that’s a blessing for me,” Chin shared in an interview with the Jamaica Observer on Thursday night at the launch of the Live and Direc series at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.

Chin is scheduled to perform at the event alongside Boyz II Men and Lila Ike.

“If I’m being honest, I haven’t felt that way in a long time [creating music], so I’m just having fun,” Chin shared.

Chin, who won The Voice in 2013, released her debut album In Between Words in 2010, which spawned the hit singles Black Books, Messenger, and the chart-topper Hideaway.

Four years later, Count On My Love arrived on major label Republic Records which debuted at #41 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, #40 on Top Current Albums chart, and #41 on Top Album Sales.

The set moved 7,000 copies in its first week of release and produced the chart hits
Everything Reminds Me of You and Tumbling Down. Love Suicide and Playing with Fire, although not included on the album, were also chart riders.

Chin also scored chart success with songs that were released which she performed while on The Voice, including I Have Nothing, Bridge Over Troubled Water, and Redemption Song. Her collaboration with The Voice coach Adam Levine, titled Let It Be, rose to #76 on the Billboard Hot 100.
