Renowned dancehall and gospel artist Lieutenant Stitchie has been facing some serious health issues of late, including a brain hemorrhage. He needs treatment in a long-term care facility. Some of his brethren from the music industry are stepping up to show moral support and are putting their money where their mouths are.

 

Richie Stephens is one such artist. He will be doing a benefit concert in Chicago on November 29 where all proceeds will go towards Lieutenant Stitchie’s healthcare. The world immortal Stone Love is also on board for this event. The sound system’s founder Winston “Wee Pow” Powell affectionately called “Father Pow” has had a long working relationship with Lieutenant Stitchie and is ready step in and make his contribution to this worthy cause. Stone Love is one of Jamaica’s most successful and enduring sound systems and has toured the world with its signature brand.

Wee Pow was honored by the Jamaican government with an Order of Distinction (OD) in 2014 for his contribution to Jamaican music. Stone Love has been in operation since 1972 and has a worldwide following. They are on board for this worthy cause on November 29th in Chicago. Stone Love joins Richie Stephens and the Indika band for this benefit concert.
