After being released approximately two months ago, Dollarman‘s latest single, So Tired, has already been added to The Foundation Radio Network NY Charts, a graph that is widely recognized as an indicator of how a reggae track and/or album is doing in New York and, in some cases, the broader Mid-Atlantic states.
So Tired is an inspirational roots tune that was penned by Dollarman and produced by both he and Bernard Joseph (IOBI). Published on 420 Records at the beginning of September, the song serves as a general response from anyone who has been, or is currently being, gaslighted, bullied, misled, etc. “I’m so tired of running—it’s been a long time coming. The time is now, the place is here, and I’m ready to overcome my fear.” The preceding are words used in the first half of the chorus.
The backing vocals for So Tired were done by Naomi Trench (also known as Makedah). It was mixed in Jamaica by legendary record producer and sound engineer Karl Pitterson, who is credited for the following Steel Pulse albums: Handsworth Revolution (1978), Tribute to the Martyrs (1979), and True Democracy (1982).
