Hopeton Lindo

As an upcoming singer in the 1980s, Hopeton Lindo was known for hopping from dance to dance performing on sound systems. As it approached year end, the singer looked forward to a special time for relaxation.

“Christmas in my home was always a joyful time of giving thanks with family and friends,” he said.
Lindo recalls memories in the Lindo household in Kencot, Kingston on Feel It Christmas, a five-song EP he produced for his Irie Pen Records.

The songs were inspired by the global shutdown caused by COVID-19 three years ago.

“My feelings for the holiday definitely played out in this EP as it was done during Covid, so that’s why the song A Different Christmas was written and included. Much credit to all the artistes and everyone involved for a great production to last for a long time during holiday seasons,” Lindo stated.

He appears on two songs on Feel It Christmas which features longtime friends and collaborators, Peter G and Anthony Redrose. Lindo is solo on The Season while he collaborates with Anthony Redrose on A Different Christmas. Peter G does My Wish For Christmas.
Fellow singers Novel-T and Empress Uneek are the other acts on the EP. They cover I’ll be Home For Christmas and Someday At Christmas, respectively.

Territory and Lonely Night are two of Lindo’s best-known songs as an artiste, but he has also written or co-written a number of hit singles for other acts including Red Rose For Gregory by Gregory Isaacs, Can You by Brian and Tony Gold and Telephone Love by J C Lodge.
