Popular gospel artiste Kirk Franklin has apologized for his attire at the Fun in the Son concert that took place at the National Arena in Kingston last April.
The gospel artiste had faced backlash after sporting a grey muscle shirt and white shorts during his performance.
“I am aware now that my choice of attire, which as a team we thought would be fine as we are going outside in the weather, was going to be something that would not come across as disrespectful and, since I’ve spent most my career dancing, moving around and jumping on stage I didn’t know that I would ever do anything that would offend anyone and any community, but it did and because it did I sincerely apologize,” said Franklin.
“I sincerely apologize because I never want to get to a place that can’t learn and learn what I need to do better. What I can do different to make sure I grow as a man, grow physically or in any aspect that I am always being humble enough and submissive enough to hear people and their concern about anything being bigger than the message of Jesus, because it doesn’t matter what my goal and intent is because if I am louder than the message of Jesus then I have failed,” Franklin added.
