Plantation Cove in St. Ann, Jamaica, will come alive in 2025 with four months of musical celebrations as part of the highly anticipated Coveside Concerts season.
The event, backed by the Jamaica Tourist Board and FYC Water by FESCO, is set to feature an impressive lineup of legendary performers, including Dionne Warwick, Barrington Levy, Gramps Morgan, Marcia Griffiths, Luciano, Myrna Hague, Cornell Campbell, Etana, and more.
Scheduled for February 22, March 29, April 26, and May 31, the concerts will each highlight unique themes, showcasing Jamaica’s rich musical legacy and its global influence.
Levy’s illustrious career includes timeless hits like “Under Mi Sensi,” “Black Roses,” and “Here I Come.” His early work with The Mighty Multitude and his debut solo success laid the foundation for decades of chart-topping music, making him a global reggae icon.
A season of legendary performances
Each concert in the series promises a unique experience:
Timeless (March 29): Five-time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dionne Warwick will headline alongside Jamaica’s “First Lady of Jazz” Myrna Hague, reggae queen Marcia Griffiths, and Duane Stephenson. The evening will blend classic jazz and reggae, with Hague performing tracks from her acclaimed Melody Life album.
Steady Rock (April 26): This event celebrates Lover’s Rock and Rocksteady, featuring Etana, Glen Washington, Leroy Sibbles, and the legendary Cornell Campbell. Known for his falsetto voice and contributions to iconic groups like The Uniques, Campbell’s solo career highlights include timeless tracks such as “Stars” and “Queen of The Minstrel.”
Memories on the Beach (May 31): The season wraps up with a food-inclusive beach party, combining great music and culinary delights in a relaxed seaside setting.
Coveside Concerts aims to preserve Jamaica’s cultural legacy while inspiring the next generation of artists to pursue excellence. This collaborative effort by cultural and technical professionals underscores the island’s rich creative heritage.
