Dancehall artiste Lisa Hyper is scheduled to answer to a charge of assault on February 25 in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court. However, the Soul Cry singer will be unable to attend in person because she is currently undergoing treatment at the University Hospital of the West Indies.

“An officer informed us that Lisa’s father can appear on her behalf with a copy of the medical report from UHWI. If the court requires any additional information, they can request it from the hospital,” Tasha Gooden, Lisa Hyper’s sister, told Observer Online.

The entertainer, who has opened up about her struggles with mental health issues, has apparently been experiencing manic episodes which have played out on social media in recent weeks. This condition reportedly led to her arrest earlier this week after an incident that took place at the Norman Manley International Airport.
