KINGSTON, Jamaica – Oz Minerals, a Canadian based company says there is excellent potential for finding copper and gold in central Jamaica. According to Vern Rampton, President and CEO of Carube Resources, a joint partner with Oz Minerals, the potential for expanding the exploration in the community of Bellas Gate in St Catherine, is good and drilling will be done at other locations in the parish. In response, Mining Minister, Phillip Paulwell confirmed that exploration licenses were issued a few months ago to Oz Minerals and the company will be exploring for gold and copper in four areas in the parish using the latest technology available.
